Health and Wellness: Introduction

First Blog: July 2, 2017

Let’s begin our journey on how to foster and maintain health and wellness. We have all heard of the cliche–eat right, exercise, sleep at least 7 hours a night, and meditate. But, what to eat and perhaps more importantly, what not to eat?

What our mammalian/ape body is designed to eat is primarily plants, nuts, seeds, grains, legumes, and roots. All the nutrition, protein, carbs and fat you need for a healthy and strong physical body is readily available in the plant world. In future posts, we’ll dive more deeply into specific foods to eat for physical and emotional well being.

Just as important, if not more important, is what NOT to eat. Single most important step you can take in starting your personal journey to wellness is to eliminate all animal products. Not reduce but eliminate meat, poultry, seafood, dairy, and eggs. This may seem like a radical statement at first glance, but together, we’ll explore the reasons to eliminate animal foods from our diet completely in detail on future posts.
